Canada has one of the ten largest economies in the world and partners in NAFTA with both the United States and Mexico for merchandise trade, with the United States being Canada’s largest trading partner.
Canada has three main types of industries:
Service industries: includes jobs in education, transportation, health care, tourism and government. Over 75% of working Canadians are in the service industry.
Manufacturing industries: includes manufactured products, such as paper, automobiles, machinery, clothing and other goods.
Natural resources industries: includes forestry, fishing, agriculture, mining and energy. A large percentage of Canada’s exports are natural resources.
